Update on water restrictions - Connect Saint Helena Ltd wishes to thank consumers for their cooperation and water saving efforts during the past few weeks following water restrictions being imposed for consumers in the Hutts Gate, Redhill, Levelwood, Blue Hill, Head O’Wain, Burnt Rock, Horse Pasture and Thompson’s Hill areas.
The recent good rainfall experienced has made a measurable contribution toward improved raw water stock levels in the island’s reservoirs, with markedly increased runoff from streams and abstraction from springs experienced across island. Connect Saint Helena Ltd is monitoring the water stock situation on a daily basis and should the current rainfall pattern continue during the course of this week, and the rate of replenishment of water stock levels continue along the same trend as during the past week, then the need for the current water restrictions will be reviewed on Monday the 6th July 2015, with the view to lift the restrictions. Connect Saint Helena Ltd regrets to inform the public that water restrictions will be formally imposed for water consumers with effect from Monday 15 June 2015, in accordance with the provisions of Regulation 15 of the Water Ordinance.
For more information please see Press Release - Water Restrictions Connect Saint Helena Ltd are asking consumers who are supplied water from the Red Hill Water Treatment Works, to reduce their water consumption to the bear minimum. This is due to a large water burst on the Red Hill system. Reducing consumption, will help preserve water stocks and allow our water levels to be recovered.
Please be assured that Connect Saint Helena Ltd are working hard to rectify the situation and we will advise when water levels are back to normal. Connect Saint Helena thanks you for your cooperation during this time. |
