About UsConnect Saint Helena Ltd is a commercially operated company, responsible for delivering multi-utility services sustainably and efficiently to the communities of St Helena Island.
The Company is owned by the St Helena Government and came into operation on 1 April 2013, employing between sixty and seventy personnel. A board of directors consisting of two executive directors and three non-executive directors has been appointed with the Chief Executive Officer overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Company. Connect Saint Helena Ltd provides three core services, namely Electricity, Water and Waste Water supplemented by finance and administration functions and are subjected to regulations enforced by the St Helena Utilities Regulatory Authority. Previously the provision of utility services was undertaken by St Helena Government. Created initially in 2012, the Company was a catalyst to move non-core areas of Saint Helena Government into the private sector and following political approval to divest and, in parallel with a process of reorganisation within Government, the provision of electricity, water and the disposal of sewage moved to Connect Saint Helena Ltd on 1 April 2013 with a new and refreshing approach to streamline and provide cost effective services. |
